Albany is located in the heart of North Central Texas, 135 miles West of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and 35 miles Northeast of Abilene.   The Fandangle ticket office is located on Main Street. at the Albany Visitors Center.  The physical address is

Directions to Prairie Theatre

The Prairie Theatre is located 3/4 mile Northwest of Albany on CR 1084, locally known as the Cook Field Road.  From the Courthouse square traffic light (the only traffic light in town), head west on CR/Ranch Road 1084 past the Post Office on the left. The entrance to the Fandangle grounds is after the second curve.  On the Yahoo Map, it is approximately where the Railroad intersects with Ranch Road 1084 west of town.  If you go off the paved road, you've gone way too far!

 
  • From Dallas/Fort Worth -  
    • Option 1:  Take I-20 west approximately 100 miles and exit at Cisco, Texas.  Take Hwy 6 north about 30 miles to Albany, Texas.  Head west about 1/2 mile on CR 1084 from the only traffic light in town at the courthouse square.
    • Option 2 (More direct & scenic):  Take I-20 west approximately 25 miles and exit at Old Dennis Road in Weatherford. Take Hwy. 180 through Weatherford, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto and Breckenridge to Albany.  As you are entering Albany stay on Hwy 180 through town. At the only traffic light  by the courthouse turn right. Go about 3/4 mile on CR 1084 until you see the electric Fandangle sign which is the entrance to the parking lot.
  • From Abilene, Texas -  
    • Take State Hwy. 351 northwest about 30 miles to Albany, Texas.  Head west about 3/4 mile on CR 1084 from the only traffic light in town at the courthouse square.
           
  • From Austin, Texas -

    Take US Hwy. 183 northwest toward Round Rock, Brownwood and Cisco.  At Cisco take Hwy 6 north about 30 miles to Albany, Texas.  Head west about 3/4 mile on CR 1084 from the only traffic light in town at the courthouse square.

AIRPORTS:

Albany:  The Albany Airport is owned by the city.  It is located about 1/2 miles due west of downtown Albany, Texas on CR 1084.  The asphalt runway runs north/south and is 3700' long and 60' wide.   For more details call the City Manager, Bobby Russell, at (325) 762-3133. 

Abilene:  Accepts private and commercial planes.  It is located on the southeast side of Abilene.   Continental Express and American Eagle each run about 3 flights daily.   Rental cars are available.   

Breckenridge/Stephens County:   The Stephens County airport is publicly owned and is located about 3 miles south of Breckenridge towards Cisco on Highway 183.  The Stephens County Airport recently upgraded to a 5200 ft. primary runway and runway lighting system.
